Usually it is a story of man against beast - but in this case the man is a girl three years old, and his encounter wildly exciting worldwide online audience.

The video shows young Sophie Walker New Zealand face to face with a big lion on a viewing platform at Wellington Zoo face visit with his family last week.

Malik, the lion had just received his breakfast, as he pressed against the glass Sophie noticed the vision.

The big cat then tics, looks and cries of the girl a few inches from his face before suddenly standing on its hind legs and pawing the glass apart violently.

Laughing, he asks his mother what the lion is trying to say.

"I think he says that aside, Sofia. He wants to eat your meal," replies the mother. Instead, it is face to face, just to see Malik new attack of the glass.

"It is huge and we sometimes forget how big it is until you see a picture of him, to see about a little boy. It's a great character," said Wellington Zoo team leader carnivores and primates Paul Hatton of the New Zealand Herald.

It added that Malik a "black humor" lion "very angry" was.

Sophie's father was not quite sure why the incident occurred, but was willing to offer two explanations.

"Maybe the lion felt threatened that Sofia would try to eat breakfast. Or maybe it is better to eat," he said.

The video is used worldwide in the online media, including CBS, the telegraph, the New York Daily News and The Sydney Morning Herald displayed.
